Rules of 1st "X Class/Masterminds" Invitational Team Tournament

 Dear friends,

The teams  X Class and Masterminds invite us to participate in First X Class/Masterminds Invitational Team Tournament. The rules are below. Please, if necessary, translate for you language and read.

Rules
This is an invitation to all teams out there who are interested to join in our 1st joint team tournament.

1. Each team will be composed of 4 members and the teams will be grouped according to their 4 participating members average rating. 1. Class A (1901 and above) 2. Class B (1601 to 1900) 3. Class C (1600 and below) For example: Player 1 = 2000 CC rating Player 2 = 1600 Player 3 = 1632 Player 4 = 1800 Group average rating = (2000+1600+1632+1800)/4 = 1758 CC rating. Since the group average rating is 1758 (regardless of having a player with 2000 rating or above), all 4 players will play in Class B.
Each player will be given instructions to participate in a particular tournament (provided by us).
 2. Scoring: Win = 3 points Loss = 0 point Draw = 1 point

3. Each team captain can send a maximum of 3 teams (12 players) but the team captain can enter only one team for each category, i.e., 1 team for Class A, 1 team for Class B and 1 team for Class C.
3.1. We will leave it to the discretion of the team captains how he/she will group the participating teams. 3.2. Captains will work to ensure that your team members will finish the games (this is impossible !!!).

4. In case of players taking vacations more than a total of 15 days will mean automatic forfeiture or loss. This is to ensure that the games won't be dragged for too long.

5. In case of players leaving their mother team during the tournament, the team captain should notify us before the start of the next round of their substitute player (however, the team average rating should still fall in the category that they're playing).

6. In case of significant increase of the group's average rating after the elimination round (more than 30 CC rating points than the category's maximum limit), the team captain should replace at least one player so that the group's average rating will still fall in the category that they're playing to be able to play in the next round. If not, automatic disqualification.

7. Time-outs will count as losses.

8. Games will be played at 3 days per move time-control.

9. Team line-up cannot be changed without valid reason.

The tournament will start on March 21, 2011. Last day of application for the team tournament will be on March 15, 2011. Ratings will be based on the participating players' ratings as of March 15, 2011.
